Dovid HaMelech refers to Torah as Sha’ashuai, my delight or playthings. This is just a place to write about those parts of Torah that I am currently enjoying thinking about.

  1. Are you doing a summary of the Chalav Company shiur from the Halacha methodology chug? Just wondering.
    Hope all is going well.

  2. R’ Jonathan, I am almost done listening to Shiur 2 on this topic and I appreciate very much the time and energy you have put into this. One point I would be interested to hear your thoughts on is Rabeinu Yonah on this first Mishna in Brachos and his interpretation of Shitas Chachamim. I pose the following question. Why would R”Y draw support from Takanah D’Rabah by Lulav and remain silent regarding Shofer? The Popere Dayan, in Mei Ber Mayim Chayim provides some insight that may address this question, but my musings have brought me to some points R”TzHCHajez posits in his Mavo L’Talmud. Currious to hear if you have any thoughts

    1. I assume you are referring to my shiur on Akirat Davar Min HaTorahץ At first glance, I would assume that R. Yonah is referring to all of Takana D’Rabbah, and was using lulav as short hand. I am open to other suggestions. What is the reference for the Meir Beer Mayim Chayim, and what is your suggestion (and the corresponding references in the Mevo LTalmud)?
